This week is interesting for me. It seems that the stress of the holidays keeps extending much as stores are extending the start time for Christmas shopping. Whereas I love the gift giving time of this year, I find myself asking many questions this time of year. Some things simply do not make sense to me.
For example, why so many holiday parties? Why to people wait until the end of the year to throw a party where people semi dress up? Sure, there are plenty of parties throughout the year, but it seems like there is an abnormal amount during the holiday season.
Another question, why do we wait until the end of the year to buy gifts for people? Why not spread it over the year and see the joy in the faces more frequently? I am confident there are plenty of reasons to buy a gift for someone. Plus, if we spread our gift buying out over the year, imagine what it can do for the economy!
Of course we can’t get through the year without talking about Christmas. After all, we are celebrating Jesus. What is that you say? We are celebrating Jesus? I often wonder how many people go about buying gifts and attending parties who forget or chose to ignore the fact that Christmas is about honoring Jesus.
And finally, this post was to be about a new gift wrapping service that my wife is offering. On Monday she got this idea and today (Thursday) it is a start up business. As is consistent with our mentality, this is another simple and straightforward business designed to help others. So when you are thinking about all the wrapping you need to do, know that there is a business in Austin that will wrap those gifts for you. The small fell charged will be far less that the headache of buying paper, ribbon, bows, tape and sitting in front the the tv wrapping. Just drop the packages off and they will be ready when you pick them up. Imagine what you can do with your time! Her site is www.austingiftwrapping.com
