The fires in Central Texas has impacted thousands. Lost are homes, trees, and life. In addition, the smoke filled air caused many to have bronchial issues. My prayers go out to all the lives impacted.
While the fires were in full force, my wife and I created an emergency evacuation plan complete with suitcases packed. We live in a wonderful community surrounded by a nature conservatory with one road in and out of the community. Certainly an exercise we should have completed long ago, but of course the need was not present until now.
In addition to our plan we realized that all important paperwork would be consumed in a fire. So we purchased a fireproof safe to hold those items that are more difficult to replace. The safe arrived on time as ordered. However, the key to the safe would not insert. So I called the customer service line to inquire about alternatives.
Customer service overnighted a new set of keys! Regretfully, those keys did not work. So I called again. This time they ordered a new safe to be sent. A new safe! I asked if they wanted the old safe returned. The answer: No!
Now I understand the economics. It’ll probably be more expensive to ship a 30 pound safe than the $45 retail cost plus the cost of overnighting the keys. So the rep took a simple and effective approach, please the customer. Well Sentry safes, I am well pleased. Thank you for setting a standard by which all companies can arise.
